Anybody need a warehouse? So since we’re wandering around the south downtown area today (not literally), we’ll put this news out there as well – The Sam’s Tire building located just north of the old city stables and just south of the Heidelberg Brewery building has been put up for lease. From what we hear the company may be consolidating operations in Fife. I don’t know the specifics, but this appears to be some serious square footage for the right company and a significant change for the area. Anybody?

Just a FYI the Sam’s Tire building is owned by Horizon Partners out of Oakland. They also own the Loft/21 Commerce building and the run down Luzon building on Pac Ave.
I though I remember there being talk about the rest of the block being redeveloped into a mixed use developent. Was the Sam’s Tire section not part of that?
Also in Horizon Partners news El Gaucho and the Melting Pot are now in Eric Cedarstrands name. Anyone have info on that?

The warehouse would actually make a great home for a small movie studio, or someone who wanted to rent out sound stage space to productions. Random thought, I know, but maybe someone should try to lure one of those Vancouver BC companies down to Tacoma.

Yes. Same neighborhood. It’s a bit to the north of the Sam’s tire building. Mentioned on Exit133 full week before the TNT, by the way.
I hope Sam’s Tire isn’t planning to do what Radio Shack just did…
