Today I found myself in an environment relatively unfamiliar to me. It was a little strange. Quite odd really. I found myself near UWT so I figured I’d take care of a few things. Tomorrow is a big day for me. You see, I’m going back to school.
I’d been to UWT several times for talks, to meet people, and as part of the pre-admission process. This time, though, I felt lost. Repeatedly I had to consult my checklist of tasks. Buy course packet at the Copy Center. Check. I went in the wrong door, but… I got what I needed, right? Pick up student ID. Oh, I can’t do that until tomorrow I was told by the confused looking student behind the counter. I wandered the bookstore and bought a new binder and a bound notebook. I bought Post-It notes, a highlighter, and several textbooks. I’m sure I looked lost in the textbooks. I was lost.
It’s been about ten years since the last time I was a real student. Orientation is tomorrow. My first class is on Saturday. I have homework to do for Saturday.

Back to school. A new pair of 501’s and a clean set of Puma sneakers. Don’t forget your three subject notebook and pens. Now that you are a Master’s candidate, you can skip past the bic stick and go for the Monte Blanc :-)

Here come those crazy student dreams. You know what I am talking about. Dreams that you are horribly late for final exams or that you are sitting in a crowded lecture hall buck nekked.
Don’t eat the paste! By the way, are you pledging a frat?

Hmmm, I still have dreams like that, and I’ve been out of school for 6 years. Is this normal?

Ahh, but being a business person I have to watch the bottom line. I use a Pilot G2 with Mont Blanc ink.
