Santa Barbara Wedding Follow Up - Coup (19. September 2006, 07:44 by Derek Young) ~ A Little Family Talk

At least three of you know my little brother, Brett. He got married last week to Lisa in a beautiful ceremony down in Santa Barbara. We were there. They then took off for a honeymoon in Thailand. Tanks are now rolling through the streets of Thailand as rumors of a coup are swirling about. This should make for a memorable honeymoon. Hey Tacoma, if you would, please send some positive thoughts toward Thailand.

Update: The coup is real. Although I really like this quote from CNN – “The coup caused little stir in Bangkok’s popular tourist districts, where foreigners packed beer bars and cabarets just a few miles from where the tanks were posted, AP reported.” Photos like this seem to affirm that tourists aren’t overly concerned.
