I don’t suppose they have any evening meetings, do they?

Or maybe one of our tech friends can post a “NetCast” of the event?

I can very easily grab audio, video would take a bit more work and is also a bit more intrusive on what might be a small meeting. I’ll plan on doing audio but can do video if the demand’s there. Thoughts?

Thanks for the offer Kevin!
I agree it would be nice to enable more people to hear the press conference and presentation as few get up that early.
I would certainly consider videotaping some of it, especially the first part. These days, video cameras are pretty small and are hardly noticeable. I expect alot of people will be there.
However, formatting them for the web can be tricky (of course you are the expert on doing this).
If that is too much trouble, you could certainly just do the audio part and put a number of clips on your web site like you did for the public spaces event on the plaza. You could then supplement the audio with a number of normal pictures from the event. That would probably be more practical considering the memory and bandwidth requirements for users.
That would be very helpful especially if they have any visuals. I am one of those people who is up early…and at work. Thanks for working this out, Kevin and Erik.

Check out the great Tacoma Index article today (9/22) on the similarities between the Davenport Hotel in Spokane and the Winthrop Hotel.
The article contains a recent interview with some folks in Spokane concerning how they restored the Davenport.
(great work Todd!)
Here is an article and video clip of the new Davenport Tower in Spokane.

The building doesn’t look very attractive. Reminds me of some of the old highrises around town.. Commencement Towers, Park Tower, etc
yeah that isnt a very pretty building.
