Warm up those powerful T-Town vibes!
Amy W.—a quiet, but devoted daily reader of Exit133 since its early days and Museum of Glass alumnus—is heading into a dramatic surgery tomorrow morning around seven. When she awakes from the anesthesia, our Amy will have one more kidney than she had today. Actually, she’ll have one more kidney than anyone I know. She will be our only three-kidney-friend. Of course, her oh-so-generous sister, subsequently will have one less kidney, but she’s not a big beer drinker, so she’ll be alright…
Amy’s family is using CaringBridge.org to provide updates on her progress. If you haven’t heard of this amazing service, “CaringBridge offers free, easy-to-create web sites that help connect friends and family when they need it most.” Patients are also able to write a running commentary on their experience. If you ever find yourselves with a severe medical situation like Amy’s, CaringBridge is priceless. (Apparently you can donate funds and volunteer time to help them continue their important work.)
What in the world did we do before the internet?
I’m not going to link to her CaringBridge page here, but if you know Amy and would like to get the URL, send me a note and I’ll hook you up.
Send positive energy to that city to our north. Show her how much our gritty Tacoma cares.

Yes, I believe even in ikebana 101, three is better than two (or four). I’m sure the entire exit133 family is sending bests wishes & wishing speedy recovery to you and your sister.
