Knowing about my fondness for Google Map mashups, a friend recently told me about Unthirsty. It’s a website dedicated to happy hours. It shows you places to drink, the features of each establishment, happy hour hours, and more. After a summer’s worth of bocce games on Thursday nights, I know that Exit133 readers have a fondness for good drinking establishments. Unfortunately, Tacoma is one huge wasteland on the site. It’s user submitted. So… let’s make the map mean something. Anybody willing to help?
Update: Somebody dove right in and put us on the map. There are now six places to find a drink in Tacoma on the site. There must be more. Bring it on!

I think this is great. It got me to thinking about several other e-newsletters or websites that list few, if any, Tacoma area events. CitySearch and another called Local Wine Events.com. It would be really cool if local establishments made an effort to highlight events happening in T-town.

In a similar vein, there’s a new site for local pub trivia enthusiasts called quiznight.net.
The two tacoma locations (Doyle’s and E9) are listed under “outside the city” on the map. Does anyone know of others around here?

Since when were E9 and Doyle’s “outside the city”? Strange. I’ll have to start notifying people that my address is in Outside Tacoma, WA.
