Apple Cup At The Harmon on November 18th (18. November 2006, 13:23 by Derek Young) ~ A New Found Rivalry

Update Today’s the day…

As many of you know, I attended UPS for my undergraduate education. Sports weren’t exactly a major source of school spirit and pride when I was there. Sure, our women’s volleyball and cross-country teams kicked ass, but that was hard to communicate to our friends at Division 1 schools with their football games and tailgate parties.

I recently realized that with my recent return to school… I’m a Husky. Crazy. With that in mind, start planning…

Harmon Brewery and Restaurant, together with UW and WSU Alumni, will host our very own Apple Cup Party 2006 on November 18th, starting at 3pm. Half the Restaurant will be decorated with Cougar colors and the other half Huskies! The game will be played on all televisions, including our brand new flat screens. Show your school spirit by wearing your school colors!

Of course, all of the fantastic flagship ales will be on tap with some food specials as well. There will be free Chips and salsa and team Baskets and prize giveaways. All ages are welcome and with our friendly atmosphere it makes a great place to bring the kids on a Saturday. There is also plenty of parking in the back at the UWT parking lot. Don’t miss out on the tailgate party of the year. Come join the fun!

What: Apple Cup Party- UW vs. WSU
When: Saturday, November 18, 2006 Starts at 12.
Where: Harmon Brewery and Restaurant
Admission: Free

OK…so your going to “U-Dub” with little to no experience with div. 1 sports. For starters why don’t you show up at your next social function wearing the purple and gold (for bonus points I would suggest a Huskies hat). BTW....our football team has drowned over the past number of games which means your fair game for any Pac-10 alum out there who’s not a Dawg fan. Good luck and Go Dawgs!!

Yes, Tacoma is a Husky town (I guess Loggers too).

That’s UWT on Pacific Ave not WSUT. As the campus and student body continues to grow, hopefully the city will identify more with the school like Pullman or Bellingham does with theirs.

You’re not like gonna paint your chest purple and get into verbal jousting with the coug fans at the office are you? I just can’t envision you shouting at the big screen during lunch.
