An urban plaza is still a future possibility (in Seattle), but Tacoma rather than Seattle may be the first option, due to the city’s sizable concentration of Hispanics and interest from Tacoma city leaders, Larsen said. La Plaza already pursued one site in Tacoma, but the property went to another buyer. Pierce County and Kent leaders have been more persistent in talking to La Plaza leaders than Seattle officials, Larsen and Sotelo said.
