Do you remember the slightly precarious looking bicycle escalator thread from a few months back? We have another one for you. Personal trams! A French organization is looking at personal transportation systems that can be used on abandoned and unused light rail tracks. Can I think of where we’d use this? There are some unused train tracks at UWT and in the brewery district. Other than that, not really. But it’s another idea for you to consider as we think about downtown transportation schemes. Yes, I believe this is Morgan’s fall back position if the street cars don’t work. It might also simultaneously fulfill the need for a skate board park.

Saw this on BoingBoing this morning myself. Too bad we don’t have all those old streetcar tracks around! Still, it’d be awfully hard to get something like that up our hills without some kind of assist.
