Do we need a few more restaurants in downtown Tacoma? Absolutely. So, to add to our ever increasing downtown mix, Infinite Soups is working hard on their new location at 445 Tacoma Avenue South. Several of you have mentioned them in passing after visiting the Farmer’s Market, but I haven’t tried their product yet. I’m excited to see what they can do. The opening day menu has twenty five soups listed. When is opening day? According the the website and their (currently minimalist) blog, the doors will open February 28th.
Welcome to the neighborhood!

I’ve seen but not tried them at the farmers market, but I’ve always wished there were just some good places to get soup downtown…too bad it’s way up by City Lights. But awesome regardless, it might be worth the occasional hike.

Mmm… soup. Could’ve used them during all those recent cold snaps. Boy, they sure could use help from someone with their website.

Dude. This is not the place for promotions!

This is a place that could go over well. The soup market has some wide open turf.
Tacomans seem to want to have something nice, light and healthy (organic?) but don’t want to wait for their bill for lunch.
It wasn’t too long ago when going out to lunch on Friday automatically meant driving to the waterfront for a hour and a half event.

No soup for you.
Still within walking distance here – Great!

Which building is this exactly? I can’t place the location off the top of my head.
Based on the pictures, it is in the City Lights Billiards building, the portion that was briefly their “music venue”.

Same building as the U.S. Sheepskin, Inc.? (there since 1976).
I’m going to check that menu closely first…

I wonder if they are going to deliver to downtown? If I was them I would make sure every business downtown had an order form so they could fax in orders.

Re: Soup Nazi’s – It was so obvious it almost goes without saying. I was surprised I was first at the buzzer. That phrase should bring even more Google-searchers to Exit 133.

Listing off prescription drug names and links to questionable adult content would do that too. Fortunately my shameless promotion is on-target because of their less-than spiffy website.

A “shameless promotion” in my opinion only occurs if an advertisement is thrown in unrelated to the topic.
A good portion of the posts consist of people discussing a restaurant or product (theater?) someone is trying to promote.
