Community Gardens Gain Momentum (19. April 2007, 23:53 by Derek Young) ~ Let's Start Growing

The community garden meeting this evening was a tremendous success. My goal was simple – more people than panelists. In the end I counted fifty five folks in the audience, plus the panel of five. There were people from Olympia, Seattle, Renton, the Puyallup Valley and a healthy dose of Tacoma. We’re off to a great start. Thank you, everybody.

The new website to help coordinate all our efforts will be online shortly. We’ll have minutes and contact information available as soon as possible.

A big thanks to Commencement Bay Coffee for providing us with the space.

It’s time to get dirty.

I don’t know much about soaking nasturtium seeds but I do know a thing or two about shoveling crap. Let’s get this going! B.U.G.S. activate!

Apparently I’m not the only one with Wonder Twins catchphrases running through my head. But the reincarnation of B.U.G.S., whether it be in name or in spirit, should be exhilarating to say the least … stay tuned.
