Roxanne Murphy and the Eastside Neighborhood Advisory Council of Tacoma have launched Eastside Pride News as a way to keep us informed of the good things happening on the Eastside of town. It’s just getting going, but given the folks involved I have no doubt that this is a great new resource in our online world. Welcome to the neighborhood!

Even a little neighborhood organizing which appears to now be happening in the Eastside can go a long way. For years, investors, real estate agents, bankers, and mortgage brokers have written off recovering neighborhoods like the Eastside. Some have fallen into further disrepair, while others have rebounded to become better places, despite the institutionalized opposition of those with money and power. This is a step in the right direction. Go Eastside!
Yea, definitely good stuff. Cheers to them and their efforts!

I expected that headline meant there was going to be a gay pride march on the Eastside. Shows what years of living in Seattle conditions you to expect.

I’m not sure if there are any gay’s on the Eastside, not that there is anything wrong with that, but I do remember a male strip club up on McKinley run by a fellow, and this is the truth, named C.R. Cox.

This was interesting:
article: Demolition of properties begins
“Recently, demolition began on 29 of these properties…”
Maybe with more activism on Tacoma’s Eastside we can see homes preserved instead of torn down – there’s enough vacant lots that these could have been relocated.
