Remember top two get to keep going.
Figured I’d add the Port results:
Port of Tacoma Commissioner Pos. 3
Paul Carroll – 6.03%
Don Johnson – 39.42%
Bill Casper – 16.12%
Dave Hyres – 11.64%
David W. Lovell – 13.26%
Jerry Thorpe – 12.42%

The question on everybody’s mind: did Don Johnson get a majority of the Port Commission vote just because everybody thought Crockett was running?

Julie Anderson is almost certainly going to win another term this year.
The Index has her interview now online.
The interview is pretty good not so much in comparaing candidates but as to seeing the direction of the council on some important issues including Sound Transit.
Most notably:
INDEX: The city’s planning commission recently asked City Council to revisit the Sounder route in order to see if it fits in with the city’s comprehensive plan. Is City Council planning to look at it?
ANDERSON: Absolutely. That’s a reasonable request. It’s been done before, but we’ll do it again. It’s good due diligence, and it’s a reasonable request.
Anderson is a cool lady. She had no real competition in this election.

Ok. With the primary over, here’s my elections predictions for November election:
Tacoma Council Position #3
Lauren Walker received 61.28% in the primary with each of her three opponents receiving around 12 percent. She has received all of the endorsements. Walker should win the election with around 65 percent of the vote.
Tacoma Council-at-Large Position #7
Julie Anderson received a whopping 82.16% of the votes in the primary. I predict Anderson will prevail and receive around 83 percent in the general.
Tacoma Council Position #8
Marilyn Strickland received a striking 43.25% of the votes in the primary. Campbell and Phillips were eliminated from the race with a combined 30 percent of the vote. I predict Marilyn Strickland will take slightly more than half of these votes and win the general election with 60 percent of the votes.
Tacoma Council Position #8
With the sole endorsement from the 27th District Democrats, labor organizations and most other groups as well as Julie Anderson’s endorsement, I predict that Spiro Manthou will prevail in the general election by receiving 58 percent of the votes.
(Anyone else want to make any election predictions?)
