Political analyst and NPR commentator David Brooks will be delivering a lecture at the University of Puget Sound on Monday, September 10th. The lecture, “How Does Being American Shape Us?” is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m.
Brooks’ commentaries are featured in a variety of prestigious media outlets. He is a biweekly op-ed columnist for The New York Times and regular analyst on Meet The Press, NewsHour with Jim Lehrer, and NPR’s All Things Considered.
Brooks has worked at The Weekly Standard, joining the magazine at its inception and serving as senior editor. He has been a contributing editor at Newsweek and The Atlantic Monthly. He worked at The Wall Street Journal for nine years in a range of positions, including op-ed editor. He has written for The New Yorker, The New York Times Magazine, Forbes, The Washington Post, and many other periodicals. He is the author of two books: Bobos in Paradise and On Paradise Drive, tomes he describes as “comic sociology.”

Although I tend to disagree with most of what he says, he did hit it on the nail in his op-ed piece on the Gonzalez resignation.

David Brooks is a professional bullsh*tter. He can certainly turn a phrase, but all too often in the wrong direction.
