Are you ready for another new project? It’s been a while…
The October 2nd city council agenda includes an interesting little nugget of info:
Request No. 11546
Setting Thursday, November 1, 2007, at 9:30 a.m., as the date for a hearing by the Hearing Examiner on the request to vacate a portion of South 2nd Street, between Broadway and St. Helens Avenue, to construct a residential mixed use building.
(New Care Development, LLC; File No. 124.1284)
So, let see…

This is the area just south of the Temple Theater. The highlighted buildings are all owned by one company. Could it be related?
(Thank you, Jake)

This seems like the area for mix-use development. Already proven high density will surely give way to more of the same.

I’m pretty sure that New Care Development is Beaver Brinkman’s company

Just plain speculation but “New Care Devop.” sounds like a retirement housing LLC. In a mixed use setting maybe that might include typical commercial offerings like a cafe/pharmacy/Subway?

Wouldn’t this be a great project to test market the removal of off street parking requirements? There is central parking lot across the street, another lot next to Doyles and a large amount of on-street parking.
