An Exit133 Top Pick
I got to watch “South 5” and its sequel, “South 5: True Grit” several times, as my kids kept asking me to play them again. The question you have to ask about sequels is, will it be a Godfather 2 or Caddyshack 2. Thankfully, more the former than the latter.
Part of the fun of the first film was in it’s surprise. Who were these people and why are they harassing this man. Because that question was already answered in “South 5”, the “South 5: True Grit” sequel is more about what nefarious plot will they hatch next. The answer is to steal the very soul of the city of Tacoma.
The results are such that it is difficult to imagine any more episodes, which is too bad. I would like to have seen a Wile E Coyote like string of capers attempted by this dastardly group. Although I suppose if the Terminator can change allegiances, perhaps we can call on the Chihuligan and others to head North 5 in the trilogy.
