An Exit133 Top Pick
Highschooler Sara Davis (Leah Pipes) has a shot at making the U.S. National Development Team. Her overbearing father Gil (Scott Patterson) lives and breathes women’s soccer, whilst pushing Sara to become the youngest player ever to make the team.
Whilst navigating the rough waters of adolescence and sacrificing friends, dance, photography and herself, Sara learns that she’s been turned down by the National Team. With the guidance of best friend Tutti (Lalaine), Sara seeks solace in dance and strives to make up for lost time by trying out for the school dance production. She soon explores myriad activities, and comes to the conclusion that there’s more to life than soccer.
After spending time in the darkroom with school photographer Josh (Drew Tyler Bell), Sara learns that she has one more shot to make the National Team. Is there room in her life for love and soccer?
A must see film that both parents and teenagers can relate to. It tugs on the heart-strings of parents who have over-achieving high school students and speaks to any student who’s had to juggle classes, extra-curricular activities, and love.
