The Helm opened last month and… we really liked it. The space. The vision. The future. So here we are in October and another show is opening tonight.
The Helm is proud to present the work of Chauney Peck. Chauney’s work will discuss the evolving relationship between humans and the natural world due to excessive consumption of resources. Drawing inspiration from unconventional living situations in third world countries, Peck has created paper based vinyl cutouts and large scale sculptural work that imaginatively illustrates the lifestyles of the poor and downtrodden.
Accompanying Chauney will be Whiting Tennis. His work will continue to explore the spiritual nature of everyday objects and materials. Through painting and sculpture, Tennis will display how the completely ordinary can be imbued with life by the simple act of observation.
The work of Chauney Peck and Whiting Tennis will show starting October 18th (tonight) and run through November 7th.

Should be a good show — Peck and Tennis both make interesting art. Go Helm!

I recommend listening to this STRANGER PODCAST for a pre-tennis warm up.

(daily news media take note of this effective use of compressed audio… you know who you are.)
