Doyle’s was quite the scene during the 2006 World Cup. If you haven’t seen a match there, now may be a good time to start.

For more information, call Doyle’s at 253.272.PINT. And yes, they have the best phone number for a pub ever.

Doyle’s was packed for the game. (Which was a particularly bitter loss for England.)

Croatia looked good on the counter-attack. I bet England had over 65% of the possession.

So McClaren started a keeper almost untried at this level along with just one (overrated) striker. That’s an odd mix of risk-taking and overcautiousness. I had to work and so could only watch the ticker. It didn’t sound pretty.

On the plus side, I’m really happy to hear that Doyle’s was packed for the game! I used to be really sad that there was no place to catch a game in Tacoma. Good on Doyle’s!

Painful, painful loss. How do you come back from 2-0, and then give it away in the end?
On the other hand, Croatia played some inspired ball and it’s too bad England put themselves in a tight situation as they did.
But still, all they needed was the tie… and they gave it away!!

Painful.

They seem to underestimate their opponents in England. On Saturday, ManU thought they would have no trouble with Bolton so they gave some of their best players the weekend off. Then they lose and their manager is sent off.

My club Everton did the same thing, except they won 7-1. Go Toffees!
