Just to let you know, Seattle’s KUOW will be airing an interview with me at 9:00 (or so) tonight. What do we talk about? Tacoma. Exit133. Why I’m in this town. Actually, it’s all a blur and I don’t remember all the details of our conversation… hopefully I won’t embarrass us all.

Congrats! And, hey, if anyone is going to be embarrassing us all it’s going to be me, OK? I called dibs.

It’s great to see Tacoma community bloggers getting so much airtime lately. Between Jen’s KOMO 1000 interview, her upcoming appearance on Evening Magazine and this maybe someone in Seattle will finally realize Tacoma’s not so bad.

Hey! That was great. I’d never heard of the site, but you’re in my feeds from now on. I live in Seattle but from the comments in the show, it sounds as if many of the reasons I came to the PNW drew you to Tacoma.
Anyway, neat to hear the interview and i look forward to following the site.

I really like the idea behind establishing this site, it is a very good cause,I heard u on the radio and I went through the same, a lot of my friends at seatac airport where I use to work have a wrong ideas about tacoma, that is why I really support your reasons , good luck.

Derek, you’re really starting to become a god around here.
Note the collective eye rolling of my friends and family.
Thank you to everybody for the kind words and emails. I was, unfortunately, in class tonight and missed hearing my voice on the radio… which I don’t regret at all. I hear my own voice enough.
Thanks E.B. for providing the clip.
D.Y., I think your overview of Tacoma is fair and as you say, there is opportunity for most anyone to contribute to the course of city events.

Very well done Derek, you represented Tacoma well!
I only hope we have more opportunities like this to show our region how fantastic and full of potential Tacoma really is (and all the potential we’ve already realized over even just the past few years).
