According to the News Tribune, the city is a few steps closer to fixing Ben Tre’s Water Fountain on the Museum of Glass’ plaza. It’s been broken and roped off for more than three years since an ‘unknown’ kid broke the $200k+ piece. By replacing the glass tube with cast acrylic, they hope to bring the piece back to life by Spring. Link to The News Tribune
In other news, the News Tribune is also reporting that the fountain at the Convention Center is usually turned off because, “because it tends to spray the sidewalk, windows and anyone who strays too close on a windy day.” The plan is to redesign the space into a water feature of rocks and cascading water.
