Free Day at the Zoo- Feb. 20, 2008 (14. February 2008, 13:36 by Whitney Rhodes) ~ Take a Walk on the Wild Side

Looking for free entertainment? Next Wednesday if you’re a resident of Tacoma admission to the Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium is free.

Bring a photo ID or other proof of residency and voila, the doors will open.

The free day is offered as a thank-you to Tacoma voters, who in 1999, approved a $35 million bond issue to pay for Zoo improvements. Since then new features have included the Kids’ Zone children’s area, the five-acre Asian Forest Sanctuary, Wild Wonders Outdoor Theater, and a new front entrance, gift shop, and café.

Who doesn’t love the otters?
