COTW: Zoobilee? Huh.
The comments are so unpredictable. We don’t know your minds or how you get from point A to point B. When a story is published, what appears below it – from you – can be a bit surprising. I would not have predicted a link between Ask Sassy and Zoobilee. Our comment of the week won because of its… imagery. We’re like… Yeah, I see it. Oh… scary. Oooh… that’s not good. Melanie takes it. Here’s the part that got us:
Bridesmaid dresses are what they are. Be honest with yourself even if the bride won’t. Your opinions will only piss off the bride; your butt does look big with a 5 foot wide bow across it; and no, you won’t be able to wear it again (unless you are like half of Tacoma and pull that sucker out of the closet-where it belongs-to go to Zoobilee in July)…

Hey…if you’ve been to Zoobilee, you know exactly what I am talking about. You’ve seen those women! You’ve even pointed at them at laughed! Keep in mind ladies, just because a bridemaid dress IS a formal dress, and it’s hanging on your closet (save yourself the pain and just donate the sucker after the wedding…why taunt yourself?) does not mean it should be worn to an event other than the wedding to which it was assigned. A formal, outdoor event with all the booze I can handle? Why invest in a NEW dress when I can wear that little number from Susie’s wedding in 1989? Please buy a new dress for Zoobilee. Imagine the horror if someone ELSE showed up in the same mauve nightmare?
