The annual Parks Appreciation Day is this Saturday, April 19. From 9am to noon, citizens are asked to descend on our parks and show the love. Last year 1,241 volunteers gave up a Saturday morning to improve our parks.
This year volunteers can pick up a FREE pair of gardening gloves prior to the event at the HomeStreet Bank Tacoma or Lakewood Branch. Gloves will be available after March 15, 2008. (One pair of gloves per person.) For directions to the pick up locations or for more information on where to help, visit Metro Parks on the web.
Anybody up for a game of bocce? It’s been awhile.
