Build Your Own Old City Hall ( 5. June 2008, 11:31 by Erik) ~ Build Or Renovate?

While googling Old City Hall Tacoma, we stumbled onto this page on the City of Tacoma’s website which provides papercraft for you to print, cut out, and fold to create your very own Old City Hall. We had seen this project before, but lost track of it until recently.

It’s just like playing with paper dolls except … you know, with buildings.

We left our X-Acto™ knife at home today so we haven’t tried it out yet, but if you, our faithful readers, would like to give it a go, we’ll sponsor an impromptu contest. It almost feels like Friday. So, let’s have some fun.

Exit133’s Build Your Own City Hall Contest
Prizes will be awarded in the following categories:

  • First Built – Be the first to email us a photo of your COMPLETED papercraft Old City Hall.
  • Best Constructed – Who can build the most beautiful papercraft Old City Hall. Imagination, ingenuity, and good old fashioned gumption will be rewarded.

Each winner will receive an Exit133 t-shirt.

Send photos
Follow the instructions on the page, and once you’ve completed your Old City Hall, take photos, and send them to oldcityhall@exit133.com.

The deadline is noon on Saturday, June 7th – two days from now.

Shoot, just realized I had typed the submission email address incorrectly on Saturday. (Was a bit late anyway.) I was hoping to see other entries, though. So I hope this isn’t the last fun little idea like this you’ll do.

We’ll announce the winners tomorrow.

We’ll do stuff like this some more. We never imagined that folks would show up at bocce in sleet and rain with their built old city hall papercrafts. This is some serious competition.
