Neko Case: Fox Confessor Brings the Flood (21. March 2006, 18:10 by Derek Young) ~ Surreal Soundtrack For My Day

|Furnace Room Lullaby and wondered, where have I been? It had been out for a while and the music was great. Then I hear that she considers Tacoma her hometown. This rocker is something different. I like her. She sings about South Tacoma Way! I suddenly like alt-country – whatever that is.

Now (okay two weeks ago), Neko Case has released a new album called, cryptically, Fox Confessor Brings the Flood. I’ve listened to it. I’m impressed. Each track seems consistently strong. There’s a non-mass produced sound to Neko Case’s music that really makes her stand out. Her voice is distinct and unlike any other. Check out the new album if you haven’t already.

I’m sure Tacoma is still somewhere in her heart.

Tacoma is lacking without her… I wonder what it would take to get her to move back here?

Neko was a waitress at Bob’s Java Jive

So if I hang at Bob’s and sing more karaoke, could I get a voice like that too?
