Whitney Rhodes grew up nearby but oblivious to Tacoma. While her roots are getting deeper in Tacoma, her passport is never out of reach. Whitney worked with community garden and local food efforts around town before coming to work at Exit133. Derek discovered she found City Council meetings amazingly interesting (Yeah. She’s weird like that.), and the rest is history. Whitney has an affinity for historical buildings, fresh tomatoes and playing in the dirt. She wants it known that she really likes the Murray Morgan Bridge and can’t imagine our city without it. Take note WSDOT.
Whitney graduated from the University of Washington Tacoma with a BA in Political Economy and Urban Studies with Global Honors. She also currently serves on the Pierce County Planning Commission and is the Secretary of the Downtown Merchant Group.
