I’m a little confused by the name. Does it tend toward Singles Night?

So how young do you have to be considered “young professional”? While we are at it, how “professional” do you have to be? Are the Lumpenproletariat excluded from these gatherings?

These gatherings are fun for anyone who loves Tacoma. Regardless of you exactly age or profession. Go at least once! If you don’t like it after that it’s ok. Hopefully you’ll meet some neat people and have some great food.

A 70 yr old man may date a 27 year old woman.

Squid, the world is full of amateur gigolo’s. Blame it on militant feminism propaganda or man-bashing from the Hollywood writer’s guild, but the world is full of amateur gigolo’s.

Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate Dictionary, Tenth Edition:

(1) gigolo (1922) 1: a man supported by a woman usu. in return for his attentions.

(2) amateur (1784) 2: one who engages in a pursuit, study, science, or sport as a pastime rather than as a profession.

Definition #1 & #2 applies to my use of the term amateur gigolo. A lot of men go to bars for sport and find women there who would support their ego in return for a man’s attentions. (And that’s the way a lot of women would have it.)

Wow, if this is the way the conversation will be going during this event, it sounds like it’ll be a real snoozer.

Anyhow, I don’t think “amateur college athlete” is a contradiction in terms the way “professional gigolo” might be. If anything, “amateur college athlete” is redundant. Everyone knows that college athletes aren’t paid for their services, so there’s no need to add the word “amateur.”

We’ve been stopping in for dessert and a drink about once every few weeks since they opened.

We were there the other night for dinner and it was extremely good and the bar was quite full of people. Good times.

No. To be honest, I really don’t feel comfortable in higher-end establishments. The GF and I were out in that area last weekend, and we opted for PSP simply because we didn’t feel like we had to dress up to eat there (that and the $20 special was the right price).
Anything classier than Gateway to India requires me to actually plan ahead and dig a button-up shirt and khakis out of the Closet of Terror…

Speaking of “Love – In Tacoma,” are these regularly scheduled events? If so, when’s the next one? Cranky is looking for the next Mrs. Cranky.

And, by the way, “Cranky” is just a nickname – it has nothing to do with my demeanor. I’m actually quite pleasant.

PS: I’m not young and would most likely be chased out of Maxwell’s for any kind of lovefest.

Thorax did you get any syntax errors when you compiled your code…as in the computer started smoking (and I don’t mean a reflective post-passion-cigarette)?

BASIC…wow, just…that’s…geez, BASIC…my head hurts from the all the GOTO statements, even with under 20 lines of code.

I write basic everyday. :-) I hate GOTOs and Line numbers. This thing kills my indenting. This compiles for me.

I saw Michael Buchannan and Laura Hanan there but no other exit133 folks. Probably all hunkered down in front of their computers.

It was not raucous because Cranky was not there.

Laura, Michael and I can only do so much.

It is my expectation that 20 exit 133 bloggers go to the next love tacoma event.

When I got there I asked “where are the love tacoma people” they said “that table there if for them” It was Michael and I. It seems as though more could be done to facilitate connections.
