And in more City Council news, Metropolitan Parks Commission President Victoria Woodards just announced her candidacy for Tacoma City Council. She will seek the at-large position #6 currently held by Mike Lonergan.
Woodards has served as assistant to Pierce County Councilmember Tim Farrell for years, and has long been active in the community.
