The show surpassed my high expectations. The emotion in the Pantages was palpable throughout — felt like the space was about 20 times smaller than it actually is.

It was a fantastic show. With a good crowd, amusing stage banter, good venue (minus the extreme ushers), and Neko Case supporting one of the best albums of 2009.
The guys from Calexico were a great opener. Glad I got to see them.

I knew when Calexico opened with “All the Pretty Little Horses” that it was going to be a good night. Sorry you all couldn’t make the show. It was stellar.
Neko did mention that she wondered why someone hadn’t purchased the Elks building and made it into their own castle. With her latest release doing so well, perhaps the city should approach her. Perhaps we can get David Boe to do an “Imagine a Neko Case inspired Elks Lodge” piece.
My only qualm with the show is that she didn’t play “South Tacoma Way.” Perhaps next time.
