The word on the street is that Prium’s people are everywhere – checkbook and RFPs in hand. They’ve come up on a few occasions here on Exit133. Now, from what we hear, Prium is purchasing the Bank of America building downtown. Aren’t there offices in there? “I’m tired of leasing, let’s buy the building…” They are also partnering with the Martin Luther King Housing Development Association on the 11th and MLK Project. Plus, they are submitting for the MLK project and the Thea Foss Waterway RFP. Where did they come from?

Someone tell them to stop. That building is already full and working fine.
Maybe they will reconsider and buy the Elks Building or the Wintrhop or one of the many other neglected buildings downtown.

The “Chopstix” building and adjacent parking lot were sold to Horizon Partners out of Oakland. They are the owners of the Loft/21 Commerce Building and I believe the El Gaucho/Melting Pot building. The plan for the building is apartments last time I heard. The lot next door.hopefully they put a high-rise on it and not waste the prime land with a 5 story building…

I heard Horizon was waiting until their Hunt Mottet condos (21st & Pacific) sell out until starting work on the Luzon Building (13th & Pacific). Which could take a while. I also heard they are “open to offers” on it if another developer wants it… how many times have I heard that! The Elks has been “open to offers” for something like 15 years now…

Hunt-Mottet are apartments… or atleast last time I checked they were.. I wouldn’t think they would have too much of a problem renting them.. but they probaly are on the costly side..

Well, it might be a delay, but if it occurred within a year, that would be nice.
The chopstix building is one of the (many) eyesores downtown now right smack in the middle of the renovated area.
I would favor renovation, but would certainly support any decent use. It is next to the parking garage which has created a dead zone downtown.
The Elks has been “open to offers†for something like 15 years now…
As many of you know, the Elks has been the subject of the cities eminent domain action for several years.
The trial date has been continued several times and it is now scheduled for December of 2006. I hope they will not continue it again.
