Since we’ll all be heading to King’s Bookstore on Thursday night, I thought I should mention the other thing that many of us do on Thursday nights …
For the past five weeks, a growing group of Tacoma aficionados, myself included, have gotten together to enjoy a little run through our city’s neighborhoods followed by a drink (or three) with friends. The runs are at a “social pace” and are about 3 miles in length. Runners of all abilities have joined us. So far we’ve been to the Parkway, Red Hot, Spar, Magoo’s and Terry’s Office Tavern and the size of the group has grown every week. This Thursday, we kick off St. Patrick’s month at Doyle’s Public House.
We meet at 6:30 pm every Thursday. The location varies.

All are welcome!

Beer before running is just carbo-loading, right? It sounds like a great idea.

Running = good
Beer = barf
Can’t win them all. I’ll try to make it, but I’ll be the sober one.

Didn’t know hashing had a name. While we did a little of it in college, I’ve seen the occasional group of hashers come by my place over the last few years. Did a quick google & found this: wh3.org
Anyone participate?

I have hashed. This sounds exactly like hashing, but without the hashing rituals & drinking songs. There are several clubs in the area, for some reason it seems to be a popular thing among military peeps. There is a group of hashers that annually crash & hash the St. Patty’s Day Dash – it is fun. Dooooo it!

I think this group is different from Hash House Harriers. As they will tell you, Hashers are drinkers with a running problem.

6th ave. In the jazzbones ish area. same side of the street. If you’re leaving downtown looking for a beer and a shot of whiskey, go west on 6th ave and keep looking on the right hand side of the street. It’s past Tuell McKee funeral but I’m pretty sure it’s before jazzbones.
Go over right now for your customary liquid lunch.
