Cheney Stadium on Tonight's Agenda ( 9. March 2010, 11:35 by Derek Young) ~

Tonight’s City Council meeting includes the approval of the next phase of Cheney Stadium upgrades:

Awarding contracts to: Mortensen Construction, Inc., in the amount of $23,000,000, plus a contingency of $1,408,750, for a contract total of $26,547,750, including sales tax, budgeted from the 2009 LTGO Bond Cheney Stadium Phase III, for the Cheney Stadium Upgrade Phase III Design Build Project – Specification No. PF09-0561F.

We didn’t really know what to say on this one after last week’s study session where Council provided ample feedback on the placement of the overhanging roofline. If you haven’t been following it, well, a new Cheney Stadium is on its way and there are a lot of questions about the process, design, and the chosen design team. We suspect there will be some good comments this evening. Any thoughts before it all gets interesting tonight? Is it too late to have feedback?

what do you think, drawings of rejected design options? or should I focus on the secret dick cheney selection process?

Somewhat ironic that it is PCS complaining about the selection process. Looks like the cookie didn’t crumble their way. Unlike the Luzon Building, or the change to the retail requirement for their building, or the less then competitive selection process for the Elk’s garage. Do you really want to throw stones in a glass house?

RR perhaps you can focus on newly appointed council member Boe’s involvement in one of the proposals, his failure to recuse himself from the process, and his being the one dissenting vote?
