RAGS Wearable Art Sale is Now! (12. March 2010, 09:06 by Derek Young) ~
The RAGS Wearable Art Sale and Gallery to benefit YWCA Pierce County’s domestic violence prevention and intervention programs is this weekend. The event takes place at Larson’s Mercedes Benz of Tacoma in Fife. Hours are 10 am to 6 pm today and tomorrow, and from 10 am to 4 pm on Sunday.
The juried show features many local and regional artists, plus works from artists from around the country. Clothing, accessories, jewelry, handbags and more are for sale and the artists give 33% of their profits to the YWCA Pierce County. The event is further underwritten through individual and corporate contributions. Larson’s Mercedes Benz donates its entire showroom and lobby to RAGS for the entire weekend. RAGS has raised more than $700,000 since its inception 16 years ago. Last year, RAGS was able to present a check for $80,000 to YWCA at the non-profit’s Annual Celebration Luncheon.
