Well ladies and gentlemen, it is that time of the month again… no not THAT time. Third Thursday Artwalk time. And this month offers a buffet of sensory offerings for all art tastes.

First off the menu is the salad bar of galleries and museums that open their doors for free viewings of art and displays of all sorts around Tacoma tonight. There are too many venues to list, but suffice it to say, there is something for every palette. Sample all you can during the monthly event from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

With the art taste buds sparked by viewing art of all sorts, the 253 Collective and Tacoma Art Place are partnering to offer Lorraine Toler’s art for purchase by silent auction with a portion of the proceeds going support Tacoma Art Place mission of bringing art lessons to the public.

The 253 Collective is located on Jefferson just across from The Swiss.

For art of a different sort as a way to close out the night, the Pacific Grill is offering an open house of its new Noodle Bar starting at 9 p.m. Diners can first customize their own Ramen bowls while they enjoy Asian street foods and drink Japanese sakes and beers at Happy Hour prices.

For art of a theatrical sort this weekend, Tacoma Little Theatre is presenting “Brunch,” a comedic play by local playwright Elliot Weiner starting Friday.
The show centers on three friends who regularly meet for brunch, that is until their tradition is challenged by three new friends who join the group. “Brunch” is directed by Naarah McDonald and features Scott C. Brown, Bryan Bender, Jefri Peters, Dana Clark, Jane McKittrick and Russ Coffey.

Tacoma Little Theatre is located at 210 N. I St. “Brunch runs Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays at 2 p.m. through June 27. All tickets are $15.

Saturday offers a big helping of cinema artsy stuff with the world premiere of “Quiet Shoes” at 7 p.m. at the Rialto Theater. Produced during a four-year period in and around Tacoma by local filmmaking talent Isaac Olsen in conjunction with Kurt Kendall, “Quiet Shoes” is a film-noir comedy that features members of local rock legends Girl Trouble. The flick tells the story of Rick Savage, a down-on-his-luck gumshoe destined for failure, that is until he acquires a new pair of shoes. Tickets are $12 and available online, at the Grand Cinema box office and Sanford & Sons Antiques.

With eyes, walls, bellies and minds filled with all things art this weekend, Monday will likely be a downer… And the forecast calls for rain. Good grief.
