One Tiger, Two Tiger (26. July 2010, 13:26 by Halley Griffin) ~ Here kitty kitty...

What are your lunch breaks looking like this week? How about spending them brainstorming names for the Sumatran tiger cubs at the Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium?

The eight-week-old cubs made their public debut Friday, to collective oohs and aahs all over Tacoma. (I could feel the cuteness from all the way over in Northeast Tacoma. Where were you?)

The zoo website will list the viewing times for the cubs each day. Today they were out at about 10 a.m. and should stay out for the rest of the day.

The cubs are still unnamed and need your help – so go, bask in the cuteness this week and let us (and the zoo) know what you think.

MALE NAME OPTIONS
Mani (meaning gem)
Bima (meaning brave)
Sigit (meaning handsome)
Niran (meaning eternal)
Squiggy (because his markings look like a squiggly line)

FEMALE NAME OPTIONS
Mali (meaning flower)
Wani (meaning daring)
Indah (meaning beautiful)
Ndari (meaning full moon)
Peace (because her markings look like a peace sign)

I am going with the native american theme here for name choices:

Male:

He-who-is-in-Tacoma-because-people-are-trying-to-eat-his-penis.

Female:

She-who-would-rather-be-playing-with-tiger-penis-in-Sumatra-than-freezing-nipples-off-in-Tacoma.

Tacoma needs more Tigers, less Raccoons (pests).Imagine if you will a Tiger on every city block. It would mitigate the gang kid problem within our city and they would take a bite out of crime. No one would have to feed them as they would stalk and seek out their food naturally.

Given the fact that these cubs were born inside the, like a failed French Biodome experiment that won’t give up, towny of Tacoma. It would not be far of a stretch to assume that at least one is going to grow up to become a proper mascot for purposes of Tacomaphilia.

(he has feelings, just like you)
