Would someone, anyone, like to talk about the shameful actions of the Tacoma Police Department against Tacoma Hemp Company?

1 | Posted by Norma | Aug 4, 07:32 AM

Yes. But details are needed. I’ve seen the reports of the SWAT team being used in the home raids.

2 | Posted by Tim Smith | Aug 4, 07:45 AM

Missed opportunity! dang.

maybe digital billboards won’t be so bad. at least when they fall apart they wont look like this?

4 | Posted by RR Anderson | Aug 4, 09:26 AM

It won’t be too bad RR, after a while, the flashing lights will be just another thing we become accustomed too. AHHHH bring on the sensory overload and watch the behavior of primates spiral out of control.

Just as “Robert Hill” is to “Jesse” is to “The Traveler”…

so is “RR Anderson” to “inacomaintacoma” to “lostinlosangeles”…

could it be?

6 | Posted by Minnie | Aug 4, 06:07 PM

Oh and don’t forget the public hearings and appeals above. The marty monster suggests you pick up a copy of the volcano and read how they got the best of Tacoma at the latest scenester milking station aka masa. Business is booming for those who know how massage a Tacomaphiles udder!

7 | Posted by lostinlosangeles | Aug 4, 06:45 PM

I am not the Traveler.

8 | Posted by Jesse | Aug 4, 09:03 PM

No, no, not that Jesse… I was refering to Jesse Hill, one of the pseudo names Robert Hill goes by. My point was that Robert goes by numerous personalities… could RR also have his many alter-egos all posting on Exit 133?

9 | Posted by Minnie | Aug 4, 09:35 PM

I am the genuine and original desert rat shorty, buy my song book. accept no substitutions. Also, thought the lost’s mom bit reached a new meta-meta level.. not sure you could experience that anywhere else. Exit133 is truly blessed.

Seriously though, I can’t be everywhere at once. More people need to speak out on the evil clear channel digital billboard monopoly.

10 | Posted by RR Anderson | Aug 5, 08:05 AM

Mr. Anderson: Please try harder to be everywhere at once. I would like to cede all my civic duties to you, but won’t do so until i can be assured you will not shirk them.

Like baseball’s “deisgnated hitter” we could have a “designated messenger” that could attend public meetings etc.

12 | Posted by Voice of the Voiceless | Aug 5, 08:36 AM

crenshaw sepulveda “likes” the woody guthrie reference. I couldn’t find the “like” button.

13 | Posted by crenshaw sepulveda | Aug 5, 11:38 AM

Your sarcasm is not lost on me sir. BTW, buy my book… I’ll throw in a glossy 8×10 photograph of myself suitable for a dollar.. uh I mean suitable for framing folks. genuine and original.

14 | Posted by RR Anderson | Aug 5, 02:40 PM

@ Minnie: Whew! I hope I don’t sound… err… umm… “challenged”.

15 | Posted by Jesse | Aug 5, 06:07 PM

No Berms,
No Parking lots,
No Parking Meter Time Limits,

and
No Billboards

16 | Posted by RR Anderson | Aug 5, 06:45 PM

@ RR Are you leading the “Party of No”?

I think you and Fredo are ideologically merging.

17 | Posted by Tacoma Fan | Aug 5, 07:44 PM

yo mama and fredo are ideologically merging.

People who are A OK with this city as a dumping ground should pick up a copy of City Arts… TRUE GRIT is the cartoon strip 4 u.

18 | Posted by RR Anderson | Aug 5, 10:53 PM

sorry, i meant to write “sheeple” instead of “people”

19 | Posted by RR Anderson | Aug 5, 10:56 PM

It is a tough thing in this city to not become a member of the local C.A.V.E. chapter (C.A.V.E. = Citizens Against Virtually Everything). The primary reason is not because we wish to be the “Party of Nope” but rather our “designated hitters” fail, time and again to provide for full, open, and transparent processes. This begins with the City Manager and Staff, extends to the compartmentalized committee system of the council, and the poor manner of providing public information. A citizen could literally attend meetings, all day, every day, and still not know what is going on. By the time an item reaches the level of community conciousness it has been vetted at enough “public meetings” for a staffer to loudly proclaim and babble about “out reach to stakeholders” (the anti-vampire caucus) and “broad community input” (builders association and former councilmembers turned radio talk show hosts).

Maybe we should just form a shadow council and allow our opposition councilmembers to consider the same agenda and same proposals. I’m sure the outcomes would be different.

20 | Posted by Voice of the Voiceless | Aug 6, 07:13 AM

let’s not kid ourselves. the way this was sprung on the council by City Manager and Troop of Lawyers was lower than a snakes belly in a wagon rut. I can tell you when a lawyer is screaming at you to take the deal against an enemy with limitless resources you poop your pants with fear and compromise. The thing is, and the records will show, any city council do stand up to clear channel in the courts HAS WON, AND WILL WIN.

We’re not talking about a treatment plant or something of any cultural/civic benefit.. we’re talking about giant 24hr automated SPAM towers!!!!!!!!!!! They suck calories from our grid like a tapeworm and crate yet another area for the people to MENTALLY BLOCK OUTLITERALLY FORCING PEOPLE TO CARE LESS ABOUT TACOMA!

Where are the torches and pitchforks? Earth to goodspaceguy, The ‘sheeple’ are already in outerspace.

(e.g. don’t call your friendly city council representatives nazis)

23 | Posted by RR Anderson | Aug 6, 10:38 AM

Should have known when there was suddenly a bunch of traffic from Exit 133 that it’d be RR up to no good again. :)

Is it just me, or does this video point out that developers are eventually going to build so many failed condo’s, and people from Hill Top are going to run to higher hills, and that Tacoma is just making an ass of itself?

Point being that the empty condo’s are empty because if you have 200k-300k to spend on a condo with a view, are you the sophisticated type that wants a view of that toilet called a port and the smell that wafts up from it????

I mean, Seattle’s skyline doesn’t face a goddamn filthy port, and they can’t build condo’s fast enough to keep up with demand. I’m just saying, those Tacoma condo’s will probably come down in price, or become low income rentals sooner or later I bet.

Get rid of the port. Send all the junk back to China.

Tear it all down, and make an estuary again if you want real development.

The word development needs to be redefined.

Also, make UWT school of technology and business tuition free by state subsiding so all the poor white and black people can get bank and tech jobs and then be able to pay the outlandish prices for a Tacoma condo. None of this will happen though, because most of the poor in america are too weakened to demand such rights, but rambling about human rights and going old testament on the port of Tacoma is fun nonetheless.

“The thing is, and the records will show, any city council do stand up to clear channel in the courts HAS WON, AND WILL WIN.” — RR

Is this true? If so, the council needs to back out of this deal.

Hmm, I thought 85% of all billboards gone was a good solution but if everyone else is winning lawsuits against Clear Channel, then we should too.

26 | Posted by Jesse | Aug 9, 07:33 AM

It’s time for Tacoma City Council, Strickland, Boe, Mello, Walker, Fey to refudiate this compromise!

Meanwhile in Seattle…
