ESPN Lists Stadium High School Among 12 Best Places to Watch High School Football ( 2. September 2010, 12:48 by Daniel Rahe) ~

Today, ESPN.com listed Tacoma’s own Stadium High School as one of the twelve best places in America to watch a high school football game. In a list dominated by Texas and Ohio schools, it appears few could rival the famously stunning view from Stadium. Recognizing the stadium for “Best View On and Off the Field,” ESPN wrote:

For beauty, it’s tough to beat this venue as fans sit with a breathtaking view of the Puget Sound in front of them. The stadium itself sits below Stadium High School in Tacoma. This year marks the stadium’s centennial.

As noted in the article, the Stadium will soon celebrate its centennial. The weekend of September 17 and 18 will bring a range of related community festivities to the historic venue – including the reading of final results for the Fill the Bowl food drive (an attempt to break a world record for food donation). See CelebrateStadium.com for event schedules and more information.

Ya, the Rainiers should be moving there too. You natives REALLY take this asset for granted.

After pouring 120 Million into the place, it ought to be the best for SOMETHING!
If they put those bucks into Wilson’s baseball field, with it’s views of Mt. Rainier, it would top Cheney Stadium. But, it’s JUST Wilson.
