Mattson House Is No More (16. May 2006, 13:49 by Derek Young) ~ History Goes Down

Once upon a time, at the beginning of this site, we wrote about the sale of the Mattson House on North Verde. The house was the scene of a kidnapping in 1936 that riveted the city for weeks. Today, we read on Thrice All American that the house is no more.

Eventually I’ll get around to finishing up the research so I can write about the storied history surrounding the builder of our house…nothing like a good tale of murder and adultery to spice things up a bit!

Wow… that was such a stunning place. I’ll have to head over and grab some pics. Such a shame…

What a shame about the fate of this house…

And Jamie, I believe you received some misinformation on your site regarding Eric Russell’s affiliation with Russell Investment Group (no longer called Frank Russell Company).
Working with non-profits, boards and fundraising, I know that Craig Ueland is the President and CEO of Russell Investment Group…so Eric (who I think is a grandson of Frank Russell) may no longer be involved with the company as a staff member.

Thanks for the info, I’ll post a clarification on my site…

The Funky Art House on Fawcett met the wrecking ball in the last couple of weeks too. I’ve got a few pics of the FAH on my flickr account.
