Salmon Beach - Enough Said (10. June 2006, 05:24 by Derek Young) ~ It Doesn't Get More Waterfront Than This...

I get a reasonable amount of emails from readers and passers-by on this website. Of those emails that ask about real estate, by far the most common question I get is, “Do you know how I can find out about homes on Salmon Beach?” Well… no, I don’t know that much about Salmon Beach. I like the place. I like the isolation, the water views, the apparent sense of community. So, to all you folks that have asked, here’s your chance. A decent looking place on the water. I would settle for a barely habitable shack on Salmon Beach. This is much better than than a simple shack. The deck is larger than some apartments I’ve lived in. You can’t get much more of a water view. The kayaks could be dropped right into the water… I like it.

Wow—I didn’t even know that place existed. What a price on this one, too! I wonder if it’s so relatively low because of the house’s inaccessability or if there’s something that needs fixing like the pilings holding it up?

I probably wouldn’t go for it, anyway, since it’ll be under water in 10 years with all that global warming stuff anyway. ;)

I am pretty sure this is an insurance companies worst nightmare. Remember what happened during the last earthquake? They constanly have mudslides. I think they had a big one a few months ago. I have also heard they have water/sewer issues..There are things you have to get used to.. Moving is by barge. Unless you think you can carry a sofa down, I think I counted 275 steps. Bringing the groceries in turns into your work-out for the week..

The area is awesome though. The views are outstanding..

And just think what your bottom side will look like!

The other reason the price is (relatively) low as that you don’t own any land, just the structure…

When I went to a party at one of these shacks in the 80’s- someone told me that the “sewer” was the sound. Gross! For $550k, I hope that has changed…

I think they’ve updated the sewer so it’s piped uphill now. Which is a good thing…

“I think they’ve updated the sewer so it’s piped uphill now. Which is a good thing…”

...until the pump breaks.

Went there. Saw it. Absolutely a-m-a-z-i-n-g. I live in a “normal” house (by the edge not over) the water and would trade it in a flash for this one… ‘cept with my kids & dogs it’s just a little tight… The home is immaculate, and it appears- sold. Salmon Bch isn’t for everyone (that’s a good thing).
