Bocce on Thursdays - Week 3 (28. June 2006, 22:38 by Derek Young) ~ Who's The Bocce Champion? We'll See...

Last week was a very successful bocce evening in Wright Park. We played several games of bocce and I met at least a half dozen new people. We had an official measurer and spectators too! Crazy. So, just in case you were wondering, there will be another game this Thursday. I won’t be able to be there until 7:45 or so. I still think a 6:30 start is feasible assuming one of you can show up with a set of balls and teach the game to any newcomers? I’ve received enough emails from folks bragging about their new bocce sets to think that somebody can grab the reigns and get a game started. Who’s in?

Update Good game tonight. We had a good turnout and, somehow, everybody ended up at Doyle’s for food and drinks afterward. Ahhh…. Doyle’s.

I’ll be late as well – hope to arrive by 7:00, but I’m returning home from Ellensburg at 5:00 and doubt that traffic will be friendly.

The Thrice All American crew is planning to be there. In addition to our bocce set, we will be bringing along a set of snakeballs, which should not be missed. We’ll try for 6:30 but no guarantees.

I’m thinking that we just say 7:00 this week. I still won’t be there until later, but it sounds like that’s a good start time for everybody else.

It’s great to see Bocce debauchery going on in the park. I have my own balls and live accross the street. However I can’t make it for today’s play. Metro Parks has a lot of exciting improvements in the works for Wright Park and actually held their last public review meeting for the concepts last Tuesday…check their website for more info. Keep posting game times and I’ll be there next time.
