The Museum of Glass has received $150k from the Institute of Museum and Library Service. From the Daily Index:
“With the IMLS funding, we will be able to create a mobile hot shop that will travel with educators and artists to schools that are unable to come to the Museum,†commented Susan Warner, director of education for the Museum. “The program’s Web presence and curriculum library will also be expanded. We are extremely happy.â€
I’d love to know what this is going to look like. Is it a cheap RV with big furnace in the back? Or are we thinking a little more Sprinter sized. I’ve heard about MoG’s mobile hot shop idea for a while now. It’s funded now. Let the fun begin. Send photos.

That mobile glass shop ran by the Hilltop Artists is very cool and always attracts attention at events like the recent Art on the Ave – the more the merrier!
