Doe a deer, a… never mind.
I went out to my car this morning and saw this beastie walking down the street toward me. What a curious sight. There aren’t any gorges, gulleys, or large tracts of trees near us. She walked right past my car and down the street. When she got two houses down the real Wild Kingdom Kalahari Desert action started. A cat (white, fluffy, and maybe ten pounds) came flying off the porch of the house toward the deer. Here was the chance of a lifetime for this lucky cat. The deer hesitated, then bolted across the street and over into somebody’s backyard. The cat nearly had it. Of course, just like our dog freezing when it actually got within licking distance of a squirrel, would the cat know what to do if it actually ‘caught’ the deer? I have this image of the deer walking around the neighborhood with a cat gnawing on its leg… Nevermind.
