A little bird flew through our window recently and said something about a fresh produce shop landing in the North End. The shop will be ‘like a small Tacoma Boys’. Where? According to our feathered friend, it’ll be in the old gas station/store where I street turns into North 21st. That’d be extremely convenient for many North End commuters and within walking distance for us. Could it be? Will it happen?

Huge potential for these sorts of markets all over town… This would be a great trend.

Bobble Tiki wishes that bird launched from downtown Tacoma, say around Antique Row.

I was wondering, should we still call it Antique Row even though most of the antique stores have closed?

Oh, my taste buds are dancing. The potential of fresh produce within walking distance AND on the bus route. I cannot let myself dream, lest my dreams be dashed upon the rocks of another gas station.

I went past this space today on the bus. It is freshly painted in lovely green and maroon trim. There were people inside, but I didn’t get a look at what they were doing. Oh, could it be true?!

It’s true! If anyone is still checking this; as my friend and I drove past this afternoon, we stopped and asked what was being built. It’s a produce stand that is expected to open early September. WOO HOO!

I went past tonight and the sign is up. It is a meat and produce store. Color me excited!
