Peter Callaghan and the News Tribune have found themselves in the middle of a mystery. A plaque from Stadium High School that disappeared ninety years ago has suddenly reemerged – at least in photographs from an unknown source. The question now is, where is it? The News Tribune has even offered an incentive to the current plaque holder:

So here’s our offer: Return the tablet and there won’t be any questions asked. We’ll even throw in two tickets to Stadium’s centennial concert featuring Blood, Sweat & Tears.

Here’s Exit133’s offer:

Return the tablet via Exit133 (we are honorable folks and will make sure it ends up in the right hands) and we’ll throw in two tickets to any concert at the Emerald Queen (Ted Nugent? Gallagher? Pat Benatar?) plus two very rare Exit133 t-shirts. Contact us here.

The caveat being that the Emerald Queen show can’t be sold out, of course.

I wonder what else the construction workers found while doing the remodel…

I wondered the same thing, Morgan. I think I remember an article in the TNT about them finding a long-lost lady’s wallet, and reuniting it with its original owner. In ’97 I was surveying for a little addition there, and found myself in this cool boiler room, deep within the stone foundation. In that cramped room, all around, there were several, very old, large, framed photos. I have to think and hope that items like those were saved and documented. On a similar note, I just remembered (and this might be of particular interest to Heidi and Daniel) that in ’94, while working for the renovation of the UPS Jones Hall Theater, I entered this utility chase that ran under the floor by the main entrance. Inside, there were dozens of debating trophies that had been stashed there for over 50 years. They might still be there.
