The Spew's Guide to Being a Tacoma Socialite (25. August 2006, 07:49 by Derek Young) ~ Doing What It Takes

A few of you have mentioned in the past how hard it is to meet people in this town. Well, Natasha over at Spew has written a piece called How To Be A Socialite that could be helpful for you. A few keys to success: Get to know your bartender(s). Sit at the bar. Show confidence. Work the room. Now you don’t have an excuse (or fewer excuses). Pack a few extra c-notes in your wallet or purse and hit the town. Don’t forget to tip well.

My technique of hanging out in the Parkway playing pinball for years and years… quite different.

Thank you Natasha, for a well-written primer. Many of us are not socialites by nature and would struggle when placed in a social situation like a bar. Keep up the good advice and maybe see you at the Swiss someday!
