The Cloves & Beautiful Angle: Making Magic in Tacoma

Here's something fun to be on the lookout for around Tacoma this weekend...

Local band, The Cloves, and local guerrilla art creator, Beautiful Angle, have teamed up to do something special in Tacoma. A limited amount of letter-pressed posters featuring lyrics from the title track of The Cloves' new album will be hung around Tacoma starting Friday July 24th. For those lucky few that find one of the collectable posters, there will also be free tickets to The Tacoma Cathedral Show with The Cloves on August 7th, provided by Colossal Soul, a local production company.

This show will be held in the beautiful First Presbyterian Church (Stadium District) with an opening performance from a string quartet with The Cloves' Alec Duggan on cello. Lance Kagey of Beautiful Angle used this setting as inspiration for the abstract stained glass motif on the poster.

Colossal Soul was created by Michael Hochstatter to produce creative, conscious content and community fostering events. Their goal with this collaboration is to bring even more Tacomans together at a landmark in their city.

This show will serve as The Cloves' Tacoma Album Release. Just coming off their sold out show at The Triple Door in Seattle, The Cloves want to honor and celebrate the Tacoma music scene that they call home.

Keep your eyes peeled and ears ready Tacoma! #makemagicintacoma

We're all for making magic in Tacoma... Then we spotted this, via our friends at Beautiful Angle:

Okay, we'll admit it: we're suckers for Beautiful Angle. We're intrigued. We also like good local talent. You can hear a song off The Cloves' new album here, and if you like it, download all of their tracks on iTunes, or, better yet, catch them live in two weeks.
