New Loan Program to Help Preserve Tacoma’s Commercial Historic Buildings

A new program from the City of Tacoma aims to give historic commercial or retail property owners help with restoration.

The new Historic Rehabilitation and Repair Loan Program would offer 10-year, low-interest loans to owners of commercial properties listed on the Tacoma Register of Historic Places.

The loans for between $20,000 and $100,000 would cover envelope improvements, building systems and restoration or repair of exterior historic elements, and would be protected with a temporary lien on the property, to be removed when the loan is repaid.

The loan program is meant to encourage rehabilitation, preservation, and adaptive reuse of Tacoma's commercial historic structures... Maybe you can think of one or two that might be good candidates...
