New Mountain Bike Trail Opening in Tacoma

Later this month Tacoma will celebrate the opening of its first trail system designed specifically for mountain bikes.

On Saturday, March 29, Metro Parks invites Tacoma residents to join them for the official opening of the Swan Creek Park mountain bike trails.

The grand opening celebration, hosted by Metro Parks Tacoma and Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance, will include all kinds of free fun for the whole family.

  • Bike demos
  • Poker Run for fun and prizes
  • Kids events
  • Free test rides from the Trek Factory Demo Tour booth - including mountain bikes, road bikes and women-specific bikes

If you're not familiar with Swan Creek Park, this will be a fun chance to get to know Tacoma's second biggest park. At more than half the size of Point Defiance Park, Swan Creek has a lot going on, including a salmon-bearing stream and other wildlife, foot paths, and now a mountain bike trail. Learn more here.

Is anyone else feeling inspired to break out the old mountain bike, and take it for a spin?
