Exit133 is about Tacoma

Polar Plaza Returns

If you've passed Tollefson Plaza lately, you've seen the beginning of it tranformation into Polar Plaza. The tent is up, and waiting for the ice rink to be assembled.

Opening day for the plaza is next Friday, November 22, and according to the calendar, the ice rink will be open every day from then through January 12, except Thanksgiving.

This year's list of Polar Plaza special events includes a variety of live music, sponsored by The Weekly Volcano, a Children's Museum skate party for the kids, and Let it Snow: a free downtown community festival for everyone - oh, and of course First Night skating and merry-making on New Year's Eve.

Franciscan Health Systems and the Tacoma Art Museum are the sponsors again this year. Hours, ticket prices, and more information available at polarplaza.com.

Is anyone else suddenly thinking about hot cocoa and mittens?
